Milad Cheragh Zade
Biography
Milad Cheragh Zade joined the AIR Lab in Septmber 2023 to undertake his MPhil research under the co-supervision of Prof. Jize Zhang and Prof. Shenghan Zhang. His research focuses on developing AI-powered decision support tools for structural monitoring and risk assessment in civil infrastructure systems.
Milad received his BSc in Civil Engineering from Ilam University (Ilam, Iran), followed by an MSc in Civil Engineering – Earthquake Engineering from the International Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Seismology (IIEES), Tehran. His MSc thesis focused on the development of a software package for tensile force estimation in post-tensioned tendons (TCMS – Tendon Condition Monitoring Software), combining structural modeling with data-driven techniques for improved health assessment of prestressed systems.
From 2021 to 2023, Milad worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln under the supervision of Dr. Milad Roohi. His research focused on seismic structural monitoring of instrumented buildings. During this time, he contributed to peer-reviewed publications and presented his work at major international conferences.
Milad is a recipient of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship hosted at the Technical University of Munich (TUM).
